Alex Schell

Alex Schell, Intern

Alex believes that the secret to lasting, positive relationships is clear communication. However, letting people know exactly what we want or how we feel is often easier said than done, especially if we have never been given the space or time to do that for ourselves. Alex seeks to provide clients with a non-judgmental space to slow down and investigate these deep desires for connection.

Whether working with an individual, couple, or family, Alex’s therapeutic style is highly collaborative and empathetic. Her training is rooted in relational, systems-based theory. Additionally, she seeks to combine elements of somatic awareness and mindfulness honed from previous careers in dance and yoga.

Alex graduated from New York University with a B.F.A. in Dance Performance. She is currently pursuing her M.A. in Couple and Family Therapy at Antioch University, a COAMFTE accredited university. Areas of interest include communication, self-acceptance, sexuality and wellness, body image perception, LGBTQIA+ relationships, anxiety, depression, and life cycle transitions.

Alex is a certified Prepare-Enrich counselor with premarital counseling experience and has completed Level 1 Training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy.
